Forget plate temperature — ghd wants you thinking about your hair temperature instead. The brand’s newest launch, ghd Sculpt, is being called its boldest innovation yet, and it’s easy to see why: this is the first consumer hair styler powered by AI that senses, learns, and adapts to your hair in real time.
“For 25 years, ghd had led the industry in heat technology and earned its position as the UK’s number one styler brand. Reinvention is at the heart of who we are, and with ghd Sculpt, powered by our most advanced interactive technology, we’re taking a transformative step forward to completely reinvent the styler category. ghd Sculpt is not just a styler, but the future of interactive, AI-driven beauty-tech — delivering flawless results with zero heat damage,” Jeroen Temmerman, ghd CEO shares.
The Tech
Traditional stylers run at a fixed plate temperature no matter what your hair actually needs — ghd Sculpt throws that model out. Powered by ghd’s Heat Adapt Technology, the styler monitors your hair’s temperature 2,900 times per second, detecting exactly when hair is between the plates so it can adjust heat accordingly. A machine-learning algorithm takes it from there by optimizing power delivery to increase heat when you need styling performance, and dialing it back to help protect your hair’s natural structure.

ghd is backing up the tech with real numbers: 5x faster styling, 90% more shine, and 2.5x less frizz, all while working toward zero heat damage.
The ghd Sculpt drops August 6th in the U.S at ghdhair.com and is now available for preorder ahead of the official launch. Will you be adding to your cart?
