This isn’t about high maintenance hair routines. It’s about low maintenance results.

When clients hear “keratin treatment,” there’s a narrative of exhausting upkeep, endless rules, and an overly complicated hair routine. That’s where Pure Brazilian fully bucks the norm. Designed to simplify, never complicate.

Pure Brazilian smoothing treatments are here to make hair easier to live with every single day. The real transformation isn’t just what happens in the salon, it’s what happens the next morning, weeks, or months after.

After receiving a smoothing treatment, clients notice shorter blow-dry times, a smoother texture, less frizz in humidity, and hair that simply cooperates. Styling becomes faster, results become more predictable, confidence feels effortless, all supported by Pure Brazilian aftercare and styling essentials.

Maintaining that simplicity at home is the key to long-lasting results. It is important to have these conversations before they leave the salon. To let your clients know that they need to take care of the hair after the appointment in order to walk out of the house everyday like they just walked out of the salon. That’s where the right aftercare makes all the difference.

Supporting the Everyday Routine

The Anti-Frizz Daily Shampoo and Conditioner gently cleanse while always protecting the integrity of the treatment. Instead of stripping the hair, they help maintain smoothness, enhance shine, and keep frizz under control, allowing clients to wash regularly without compromising results.

For added nourishment, the Deep Conditioning Masque restores moisture and strengthens the hair fiber. This is especially beneficial for clients with color-treated or previously damaged hair, reinforcing softness while extending the life of the smoothing service.

And for daily styling, a Leave-In Conditioner with Keratin becomes the quiet hero. It provides lightweight hydration, added protection, and continued smoothing benefits while cutting down on heat styling time.

When clients understand the everyday impact of a supportive routine, the conversation completely changes. It’s not about adding steps, it’s about 20 minutes saved each morning. It’s about hair that works with you, not against you. It’s Pure Brazilian. Head to purebrazilian.com to find your distributor.

Goddess Maintenance, the company behind the red carpet staple BioTech Blowout leave-in mask, just launched its BioTech Blowout Shampoo and BioTech Blowout Conditioner, the brand’s first-ever foray into shampoo and conditioner.

Rather than treating cleansing as a quick prep step, this new duo positions the wash itself as an active treatment phase. Built as a paired system, the formulas use Goddess Maintenance’s proprietary BioProtection System to help protect hair structure, reinforce strength, and maintain integrity while cleansing and conditioning — without silicones, heavy coatings, or buildup.

Powered by dual-action macro- and micropeptides, the shampoo and conditioner work to:

  • Preserve essential lipids for stronger, nourished strands
  • Reinforce elasticity to reduce breakage
  • Reduce friction during washing, when strands are swollen and more prone to breakage
  • Lift fine hair without flattening and smooth coarse hair without weighing it down
  • Enhance color longevity and promote scalp health
  • Replace the need for multiple corrective products

The new BioTech Blowout Shampoo redefines cleansing as care. Powered by the proprietary Goddess Molecule™, this formula removes buildup while actively preserving and replenishing the hair’s essential lipids, because clean hair should still feel like hair. It’s significantly milder than traditional shampoos, supporting scalp health and protecting strands when they’re most vulnerable: wet, swollen, and prone to breakage. Fine hair stays lifted without collapse, coarse hair cleans without dryness, and color-treated hair keeps its integrity intact. This is the wash step that sets everything else up to succeed.

BioTech Blowout Conditioner delivers intelligent conditioning that knows where to work and where to hold back. Also powered by the Goddess Molecule™, it restores and replenishes essential lipids while binding with keratin to support hair’s structure, strength, and elasticity. Precise pH control smooths the cuticle and brings hair back into balance, while lightweight biotech peptides detangle, soften, and protect without clogging follicles or creating buildup. The result is hair that’s smoother, stronger, and easier to style, without heaviness, residue, or compromise.

Following the sell-out success of Gisou’s Honey Gloss Hair Mask, the brand has expanded its ceramide therapy line with two new honey-infused innovations: a Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner. Designed to elevate the everyday hair wash routine, this powerful duo deeply cleanses, balances, and hydrates to promote stronger, glossier hair.

Gisou’s Honey Gloss Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner feature fermented Mirsalehi Honey. Through fermentation, Gisou’s proprietary Mirsalehi honey becomes enriched with probiotics that help balance the scalp’s microbiome. A healthy microbiome helps reduce dryness, itchiness and excess oil production. And fermentation breaks down the honey’s molecular structure, enhancing nutrient absorption — allowing its benefits to nourish scalp and hair. The result is a protective barrier that locks in moisture, leaving the scalp and hair feeling hydrated AF.

The new Honey Gloss Ceramide Therapy Hydrating Shampoo deeply cleanses and intensely hydrates to remove excess oils and impurities without stripping hair. Inspired by skincare, AHAs gently exfoliate the scalp to help refresh and renew, while fermented Mirsalehi honey supports and balances the scalp’s microbiome. Powered further by hyaluronic acid and ceramides, hair is hydrated, stronger and has a glossy shine from root to tip.

The new Honey Gloss Ceramide Therapy Hydrating Conditioner instantly detangles and smooths, effortlessly gliding through strands to polish and perfect hair. Silk proteins support hair elasticity and prevent breakage, while ceramides strengthen and help to seal hair cuticles, creating a smoother and more even surface. It leaves hair intensely hydrated, stronger and with a glossy shine that’s silky to the touch.

Unlike traditional haircare brand, all of Small Wonder’s products are formulated with a powder-to-lather consistency that’s activated by water — an innovative texture not widely used yet, as most  consumers and hair professionals are used to the usual liquid formula. The Chicago-based waterless haircare brand  was born because its co-founders, Stephanie Farsht, Paul Earle, and Katja Lerner were frustrated with the waste that plagues the haircare industry. So, to address this issue, they decided to create a brand that only carries powder products such as their Signature Shampoo and Conditioner.

As many of us are still new to this innovative formula, The Tease connected with Farsht to better understand the benefits behind the brand’s powder-to-paste consistency. Keep scrolling for her insights.

The Tease: Tell us a little bit about Small Wonder.

Stephanie Farsht: We are a Chicago based company. We manufacture in the United States. Our tiny team is on a mission to create the first luxe, professional grade hair care brand that reduces waste! Tiny, mighty, and beautiful.

The Tease: Why did the brand decide to launch haircare products with a powder formula instead of liquid?

Stephanie Farsht: Paul Earle and I hated buying products that are mostly made with water and shipped in single-use plastic, but we didn’t want to compromise the brand being professional-grade and luxe. It wasn’t long before the idea for the waterless brand Small Wonder was born. After all, shampoo is over 70% and these large plastic bottles were being shipped to everyone’s showers!

The Tease: What are the benefits of powder formula?

Stephanie Farsht: Powder is a form factor that keeps active ingredients fresh and potent. Many of our active ingredients degrade when exposed to water and air (such as Vitamin C in our Magic Serum). Our powder-to-lather formulas keep these active ingredients in their best form until you are ready to activate each day. No unnecessary filers, no additional preservatives and no water. Additionally, powder is light and easy to ship, enabling us to pack a ton of product into small bottles with paper based refills that compost in your backyard. Finally, the days of traveling with watery goop that spills in your suitcase are gone.

The Tease: Can you share a little bit about the process of creating a powder shampoo and conditioner?

Stephanie Farsht: After years of research and development and over 55 prototypes, we created a formula that is luxurious, salon grade and performs better than the liquid alternative. We have a team of experts that have developed top brands for decades.

The Tease: Do you think we might see an increase in powder products?

Stephanie Farsht: Absolutely. This macro trend is just the beginning as we are seeing concentrates in every category, even in food categories such as chicken broth concentrates in glass jars!

Androgenetic alopecia, or male or female pattern alopecia, is the most common type of hair loss. Incidentally, please do not accidentally insult your female clients by telling them that they have “male pattern hair loss.”

According to an article published in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, approximately 40% of women, and 50% of men, will experience androgenetic alopecia by the age of 50. In men, androgenetic alopecia presents as a bitemporal recession of the hairline and thinning at the vertex of the scalp. The male pattern thinning gradually progresses to take the hair from the frontal hairline and extend back to the vertex scalp. The rim of hair over the ears to the back of the scalp is spared. In women, androgenetic alopecia presents with preservation of the frontal hairline and widening of the part behind the hairline in an inverted Christmas tree pattern. In men, we know that DHT, which is a byproduct of testosterone, leads to miniaturization and of the follicles that have DHT receptors.

In women, DHT may play a role, especially when women are post-menopausal. Many other factors can also contribute to androgenetic alopecia in women. For example, stress, vitamin deficiencies, scalp inflammation, and hormonal fluctuations all seem to exacerbate female pattern alopecia. If you are treating a client, and notice that she has female pattern alopecia, it’s important to send the client to the dermatologist for a full evaluation so that any internal factors may be treated.

Regarding treatment options for male pattern alopecia, men should be on a DHT blocker, like saw palmetto or finasteride. Minoxidil is the only FDA-approved topical treatment for alopecia. All of the studies suggest that combining minoxidil and a DHT blocker yields the most successful treatment. Additional treatments such as red-light therapy, PRP (platelet-rich plasma), exosomes, and lasers have also proven to be helpful. Hair transplantation is a surgical treatment option.

To treat women with female pattern hair loss, it is important to identify and address all underlying contributing factors. Minoxidil is still the only topical treatment option that is FDA-approved, but it may cause side effects including scalp inflammation, dandruff, and unwanted facial hair growth. The best approach to treating female pattern hair loss is a comprehensive approach. It is recommended to improve blood flow to the scalp, calm inflammation, and stop shedding. Vitamin supplementation and correcting any underlying hormonal imbalances is also important.

The ReTress system includes a shampoo, conditioner, serum and vitamin supplements. ReTress uses all-natural active ingredients to help improve blood flow to the scalp, calm scalp inflammation, and reduce shedding. ReTress is free of parabens, harsh sulfates, phthalates, minoxidil, and synthetic fragrance. Red light therapy, lasers, PRP, exosomes, microneedling and hair transplantation are all helpful in combatting female pattern alopecia.

Hair company Small Wonder just launched their new Signature Conditioner, which is packed with hydrating ingredients and formulated with their brand’s distinctive powder-to-cream formula for a more concentrated product.

A counterpart to their signature Signature Shampoo, this conditioner activates with water and transforms into a lather packed with hydrating ingredients like marula and jojoba oil to deeply nourish your hair—a perfect choice for dry strands or for added shine. Plus, without fillers, no preservatives, no sulfates or parabens, the salon-grade conditioner also includes Small Wonder’s proprietary compound, SHINE37, which focuses solely on nourishing and hydrating your hair.

Its powder-to-cream formula, a new application method for some, including me, scratches the need for unnecessary ingredients and water, which takes up most of your shampoos and conditioners.

The brand is also committed to sustainable practices. The Signature Conditioner lasts 2 to 3 months and refills are only $30, which is a steal if you think about how many times you refill in 50 to 80 washes. Once you’re done with your conditioner, or any of their products, you can refill it with their easy-to-store lightweight refill tubes.

After dispensing the powder on your wet hand, use a small amount of water to activate, and then rub your hands together to activate the product and condition like you would with a liquid conditioner.

Small Wonder’s Signature Conditioner is available for purchase at smallwonder.world/. For the latest news surrounding the brand, be sure to follow @smallwonder.world on Instagram.

The Rootist, a haircare brand focused on treating the scalp (or hair’s roots, as the name suggests), Densify Collection centers on reducing hair fallout and supporting hair growth with a 3-piece clinically-proven regime. The products’ formulations were developed by a team of women scientists and experts and features The Rootist’s patent-pending Rootbiomic Ferment™, a powerful bioactivated botanical blend that replaces water in all products.

The full routine consists of The Densify Serum, Shampoo, and Conditioner. All of the products are formulated to work synergistically together to support fine, thinning hair and transform it into fuller, healthier-looking locks.

The patented Rootbiomic Ferment is a multivitamin superfood that the brand calls “like kombucha for your roots, scalp, and hair.” It is crafted through fermentation and promises to deliver immediate, essential nutrition and hydration to the roots, scalp, and hair. The ferment also optimizes each phase of the hair cycle while enhancing density and thickness. This blend is a mix of Chinese skullcap root, red ginseng root, reishi mushroom, coffee berry, rice and pea proteins, and L. Plantarum L. Caisei (which is isolated from apple and vegan kimchi).

The Densify Serum for Thinning Hair($58) is a mighty and powerful scalp non-greasy serum loaded with Rootbiomic Ferment™, densifying peptides and stem cells from turmeric to reduce signs of shedding. The product comes in a glass bottle with a droplet, for easier application directly to the scalp, and is supposed to be used once daily to kickstart the growth process. You can apply whether your hair is damp or dry.

The Densify Concentrated Shampoo($30) and Conditioner ($32) are both created to leave your hair feeling instantly thicker, bouncier, and voluminous. Both products are made with no added water, with less waste and more concentration in mind. The Densify Concentrated Shampoo instantly adds volume to the hair and thanks to inulin, the product cleanses the scalp while moisturizing it and keeping the hair anchored to the root. The Densify Conditioner is formulated with jelly moss extract, which boosts shine and moisture, without weighing down hair, and also minimizes hair fallout due to breakage. Both products are made with Rootbiomic Ferment™ and amaranth peptides, to thicken the hair.

Getting to the Root of Hair Thinning

Although hair thinning might happen for a myriad of reasons, such as stress, postpartum, hormones, and weight fluctuations, this new collection looks to address scalp health to support consumers that might be struggling with any of the aforementioned scenarios.

In addition to the Rootbiomic Ferment™, the products also boast several other key ingredients known for hair growth support such as densifying peptides, turmeric-derived stem cells, and amaranth peptides.

The Rootist places a lot of value in scientific research and innovation. In clinical studies done by the brand, 91% of participants reported less thinning at the scalp after 120 days, with visible improvements in just 90 days. The results are based on expert grading evaluation on 34 panelists after constant use of all three products.

Looking for a nourishing conditioner that locks in brightness and neutralizes unwanted yellow tones root-to-tip as it softens, detangles, and strengthens hair? Introducing OLAPLEX’s No. 5P Blonde Enhancer Toning Conditioner! The beloved haircare brand has just dropped an all-new conditioner inspired by the globally bestselling OLAPLEX No..5 Bond Maintenance Conditioner.

No. 5P Blonde Enhancer Toning Conditioner is formulated with micro-fine pigments that reach gaps typically left by larger pigments in purple shampoos to lock in bright, even tone. Patented OLAPLEX Bond Building Technology helps maintain strong, healthy-looking blondes and greys, some of the most fragile hair types vulnerable to damage.

What Pros Have to Say

“OLAPLEX No. 5P Blonde Enhancer Toning Conditioner is a game changer! My clients already religiously use No. 4P Blonde Enhancer Toning Shampoo to keep any unwanted warmth at bay. Now by using as a duo with No. 5P, it truly is a match made in heaven. Along with muting brassy tones, the root-to-tip formula and patented technology strengthens, adds shine, and hydrates” says Bianca Hillier, celebrity colorist and OLAPLEX ambassador.

How to Use

No. 5P is part of a customizable brightening routine and should be used after OLAPLEX’s No. 4P Blonde Enhancer Toning Shampoo to lock in brightness or alone for more subtle toning and more frequent use.

  • Apply a generous amount to clean, damp hair. Leave on for up to 3 minutes. Rinse thoroughly.
  • Use weekly or as needed.

The sustainability space can be a confusing place for the average beauty consumer. When the movement initially gained momentum, consumers fell victim to an increase in greenwashing — the process of using misleading or false information about a company’s operations and/or products to deceive customers and the public about their environmental impact.

For the beauty industry in particular, greenwashing can be found in in many forms. From changes in branding to added labels like “natural” or “organic,” which are largely ambiguous and don’t necessarily ensure that the products are healthier, safer, or better for you in any way.

As the FDA continues to turn a blind eye to these unregulated terms in the beauty industry, many of us have taken it upon ourselves to learn more about what’s really in our personal care products and source cleaner alternatives, which is how I stumbled upon Ingreendients Daily Shampoo ($22.95) and Conditioner ($22.95).

Responsible Hair Care With a Mission

Ingreendients is a tiny but mighty hair and body care line with a mission to say goodbye to greenwashing once and for all. “We are pioneering an all-encompassing definition of “natural” that includes total transparency, so it’s finally possible to make informed decisions,” the brand states on their website.

All of Ingreendients’ formulas are 100% plant-based, but it doesn’t just end at responsible formulas. Their packaging is made from 100% recycled plastics and is also 100% recyclable. “We’re maximizing sustainability through the whole product life cycle—from how it’s made to where it ends up.”

My Review of Ingreendients

Recently, I tried their Hair Care Bundle ($35.95) which includes their Daily Shampoo and Conditioner. Immediately upon opening the bottle I could tell I was going to love the scent. Both products have hints of coconut rounded out with an intoxicating blend of essential oils—I simply couldn’t get enough.

As someone who has tried her fair share of “natural” shampoos, I was also very impressed with the lather. I know, I know, shampoo doesn’t have to lather to be good for your scalp, but I’ve Pavloved myself into believing that the bigger the lather, the better the clean, and this shampoo gave me the good, sudsy lather that consumers like me crave.

I was left with a slightly squeaky feeling after my first rinse, as is true with many of the natural shampoos I’ve tried in the past, but the conditioner compensated for this with its rich, nourishing formula which left my hair feeling silky-smooth.

As someone with an incredibly dry scalp, the only downside that I experienced was that I was noticeably flakier a few days in than I typically am when using my prescription formula. That being said, I was really impressed with the brand’s transparency and I felt good about the ingredients in both products.

I finally found a natural shampoo with my ideal level of lather and I’m absolutely head over heels for the scent of the conditioner. I’ll definitely be adding Ingreendients to my hair care rotation, and because I want to smell like this from tip to toe, I’ve already added the body wash to my shopping cart.
