All of Our Favorite Hairstyles From the 2022 SAG Awards

02/28/2022

One year after going entirely virtual, the Screen Actors Guild Awards returned with a bang — kicking off what’s sure to be another exciting award season. Similar to past SAG Awards, this year’s show continued with its no-host tradition, however, that didn’t put a damper on the star-studded evening in the slightest. Attendees were dazzled by Hamilton stars Lin-Manuel Miranda, Daveed Diggs, and Leslie Odom Jr. opening number and got to witness five-time SAG Award winner Helen Mirren receive the much deserved SAG Life Achievement Award by Kate Winslet.

Of course, we were just excited to sell all of the gorgeous hair that Hollywood’s biggest stars and their glam teams blessed us all with on the red carpet. This year’s best actors showed up and showed out, bridging forth a solid serving of phenomenal red carpet hair. From sleek bobs to dreamy tousled waves, the hair inspo was in abundance last night.

So, without further ado, here are some of our favorite hairstyles from the 2022 SAG Awards.

Vanessa Hudgens

Vanessa Hudgens’ faux bob was totally next-level! From the liquid shine to the ultra-blunt cut, what’s not to love? Her hairstylist Danielle Priano totally nailed this look!

Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga looked like an absolute vision with these side-parted retro icy waves that her longtime hairstylist Frederic Aspiras styled for the evening.

Juno Temple

Juno Temple totally slayed the red carpet with this deconstructed fishtail braid that hairstylist Mara Roszak styled using Wella Professionals products. Prior to styling, Roszak used Wella Professionals Fusionplex Shampoo ($23.10) and Conditioner ($23.10) to protect the hair from any further damage during the styling process. Then, she began by applying ROZ Santa Lucia Styling Oil ($45.00) to Temple’s hair from roots to ends, spritzing the hairline with water before blowing it smooth. Next, Roszak blew out her bangs and parted to the side for a Francoise Hardy-inspired bang.

To gather the hair high on top of Temple’s crown, she used the Wella Professionals EIMI Pearl Styler Styling Gel ($20.50) to tame unwanted flyaways and create a smooth pony. To give the braid volume and texture, Roszak applied Wella Professionals EIMI Rugged Texture Paste ($17.64) to her fingertips and braided her hair “imperfectly” leaving a natural effortless finish. She secured the ends with a bit of gold wire and sprayed the hair all over with Wella Professionals EIMI Stay Firm Workable Finishing Hairspray ($19.00).

Demi Singleton

We have major heart eyes over Demi Singleton’s extra-long pigtails braids that came courtesy of hairstylist Ursula Stephen

Hailee Steinfeld

Hailee Steinfeld looked cool as ever sporting sleek side-slicked bangs and an extra-long pony that was the work of hairstylist Gregory Russell.

Kerry Washington

Kerry Washington had all eyes on her and those luscious side-swept curls that were styled by hairstylist Larry Sims

Sandra Oh

Sandra Oh repped curly hair and fringe on the red carpet last night—and we’re so obsessed! Her red carpet look is the work of hairstylist Ted Gibson.

Nicole Kidman

Nicole Kidman’s tousled waves were absolute perfection. The mastermind behind this beautiful look was hairstylist Adir Abergel

Jessica Chastain

Jessica Chastain wowed with subtle waves that came courtesy of hairstylist Renato Campora who used all Olivia Garden tools to create this radiant look. According to Campora, Chastain’s red carpet hair was inspired by her Dior suit. “I wanted to create a modern Jerry Hall look,” he explained. “Something that was strong, feminine, and chic.”

To style this look, Campora began by drying Chastain’s hair in sections using the Olivia Garden Ceramic + Ion Blow Dryer ($109.95) and Olivia Garden Ceramic + Ion Speed XL Brush ($25.95). Once her hair was dry, he then created a super straight middle part using the Olivia Garden CarbonLite Comb ($12.50). Next, Campora sectioned off the hair by 1-inch all the way around using the Olivia Garden DoubleClip Petite Clips ($8.50). He then began to curl each section of Chastain’s hair using the Olivia Garden Titanium + Ion Curling Iron ($79.99), pinning them with the Olivia Garden DoubleClip Petite Clips ($8.50) to cool and set. Once all of Chastain’s hair was set and taken down, Campora took the front two pieces and tucked them tightly behind her ears. He finished off the look by spraying a generous amount of hairspray to ensure the look and volume would hold.

Elle Fanning

Elle Fanning served low-key glam with her natural loose waves that came courtesy of hairstylist Jenda

Jada Pinkett Smith

Jada Pinkett Smith stunned with her shaved head on full display last night and she’s honestly never looked better.

Venus Williams

Venus Williams looked absolutely gorgeous rocking super fierce braids and free-flowing curls that came courtesy of hairstylist Lacy Redway.

Selena Gomez

Selena Gomez looked flawless rocking a center-parted slicked-back bun styled by hairstylist Marissa Marino.

Helen Mirren

Helen Mirren looked pretty in pink rocking a pink padded headband with a chic chignon styled by hairstylist Richard Collins.

Rosario Dawson

Rosario Dawson gave us all major hair envy with this cool twisted topknot that her hairstylist Aviva Perea dreamed up for her. According to Perea, much of the inspiration for Dawson’s hair came from her Oscar de la Renta gown. “Rosario is wearing a gorgeous off the shoulder gown and I wanted to put her hair up to accentuate her gorgeous long neck and glowing skin,” she shared in an Instagram post. “We decided on a sleek, shiny, edgy top knot.”

HoYeon Jung

HoYeon Jung looked elegant as ever sporting a middle-parted braided ponytail styled by hairstylist Jenny Cho

Cho adorned Jung’s ponytail with a hair ribbon that perfectly matched her Louis Vuitton gown and paid tribute to the traditional daenggi hair ribbon that has been used to decorate braided hair in Korea for centuries.

Laverne Cox

Laverne Cox served us major ponytail goals as she hit the carpet with this tousled sky-high pony that came courtesy of hairstylist Cesar DeLeon Ramirez.

Alexandra Daddario

We couldn’t help but swoon over Alexandra Daddario’s smooth and shiny waves that were styled by hairstylist Bobby Eliot

Cynthia Ervio

Cynthia Ervio looked radiant in red as she hit the red carpet with her signature platinum blonde buzzcut.
