How Renato Campora Created Selena Gomez’s Perfect Emmys Ponytail

“Only Murders in the Building” star Selena Gomez hit the 2025 Emmys red carpet with the most perfect ponytail. Working with celebrity hairstylist Renato Campora, the look was snatched as hell but retained a certain softness.

Get the Look:

1. To start, Campora washed the hair with the KERASILK Volumizing Shampoo to add volume and body, alongside the KERASILK Smoothing Conditioner to smooth any frizz and deeply condition the hair. 
2. After rinsing, he then applied the KERASILK Hydrating Essence throughout the hair, using the VARIS Paddle Brush to evenly distribute and gently massage the scalp.  
3. He then sectioned the hair into large 3-inch sections before applying the KERASILK Liquid Cuticle Filler and the KERASILK Smoothing Blow Dry Cream from mid-length to the ends of the hair. 
4. He then began blow drying each section using the VARIS SB2 Dryer and VARIS Large Ceramic Round Brush, lifting the roots upward to create volume and ensure a clean, polished nape for the ponytail.
5. Once a section was dry, Campora lightly misted the KERASILK Texturizing Finishing Spray at the roots to build grip. He repeated this process across the back of the head.
6. Once the back was fully prepped, he gathered the hair with the VARIS Smoothing Brush and secured it into a high, snatched ponytail with an elastic. 
7. He then blew the front and sides of the hair dry, directing the roots backwards for a sleek finish while misting the roots with the KERASILK Texturizing Finishing Spray.
8. He then smoothed the top layer with the KERASILK Taming Balm for extra shine. 
9. Campora then merged the front and side sections into the back ponytail using the VARIS Smoothing Brush, refining the shape and reinforcing that snatched look.
10. For the ponytail tail, Campora divided it into four sections and curled each with a VARIS 1-Inch Marcel Iron, pinning the curls and allowing them to cool. 
11. Once set, he gently brushed through with the VARIS Smoothing Brush. 
12. He then finished with a light mist of KERASILK Texturizing Finishing Spray for body, followed by a touch more of the KERASILK Taming Balm for shine and hold.
