As you hear about, Emmys prep often happens much before the day-of. In the case of Selena Gomez, the actress-singer-beauty mogul wanted a change from her bob and turned to longtime hairstylist Nikki Lee, co-owner of Nine Zero One Salon, and Nine Zero One stylist Lisa Satorn for extensions to start.
Lee and Satorn used 20-inch Great Lengths Keratin Bond Extensions. Lee says, “We were ready for a major change and wanted to bring back some of that iconic 2016 Selena energy, but with a fresh feel.” They’re calling it “The Whimsy Cut — long, airy layers with softness, movement and a little romance.” And it was this cut that celebrity hairstylist Renato Campora, another of Gomez’s frequent collaborators, breathed new life into for the Emmys red carpet.
Campora says that Gomez’s was like “a living sculpture in liquid gold” for the Emmys. He wanted her hair to complement the gown and says “the hair flows with the architectural silhouette, balancing strength, movement, and effortless glamour to create a modern statue in motion.”
